OCR for eClipboard
Help patients save time with their data entry by using Optical Character Recognition to detect text on their insurance cards and automatically populate information on their digital patient forms.
OCR for eClipboard is an add-on service available for eClipboard users. See Fees for Support and Services for pricing.
When taking a photo of an insurance card, the eClipboard 25 app will automatically detect text. This text is used to pre-populate data into subsequent eForms or Sheets during the eClipboard session, making data entry easier for your patients and reduces the risk of missed data or typos.
20 complimentary scans are included monthly with a standalone eClipboard subscription. If you’re an eServices Bundle subscriber, OCR is included for no additional fee if you want to try it out!
Integration with Clerri
Clerri, a platform for in-house dental membership plans, is now integrated with Open Dental. This native integration provides easy access to the Clerri platform to see potential savings and view the Clerri huddle report. Contact Clerri to get started.
eForms Enhancements
- eForms now support Custom Field Defs.
- eForms supports rich text (bold, italic, etc.) when copying and pasting from an external source.

Insurance Enhancements
- Throughout the program, the term “UCR” has been updated to “Standard Provider Fee” where appropriate.
- Tooth numbers can now be entered from the Age Limits or Other Benefits grid (for Exclusions only).
- Filters in the Insurance Verification List have been updated to allow users to set a date range and select multiple carriers.
PaySuite Integration for Canada Users
PaySuite is a subscription service for Canada dentist providers. This service allows eligible carriers to automatically post payment details to Open Dental claims. Additionally, this service extends the claim reversal window, offers enhanced claim status details, and allows providers to view payments expected from the carrier. Miscellaneous Changes
- The Blockouts permission has been separated into three distinct permissions: Blockout Add, Blockout Edit, and Blockout Delete.
- You can now automatically send emails for recurring charges that have failed.
- Global Payments V2, an enhanced integration for Global Payment users, has been added.
- Added a Procedure Code Tool to reset Code Groups.
- Updated the size and layout of the Group Note window.
- Added a bridge to the imaging software, Clever One.
