Have you ever wished you could see more information about the patient you have selected at a glance? Maybe you’re tired of jumping between different modules in Open Dental and just want one centralized location to see more about your patient. Look no further than the Patient Dashboard! This (customizable!) little tool is often overlooked, since it’s not enabled by default.
As you can see below, the Patient Dashboard can show you a lot of information. There are two defaults that you can use, or you can scrap the defaults and customize it yourself!

Setting Up Your Patient Dashboard
Setting up dashboard functions in a similar way to setting up sheets, so if you’ve worked with that before, this should be a breeze for you!

In addition to the special fields and the appointment grid that can be added, you can use Static Text Fields to insert information applicable to your desired dashboard.
Dashboard Access
Dashboards are displayed per user, so if you have a specific dashboard you like, it will display on any computer where you are logged into Open Dental! Additionally, you can control which users have access to certain dashboards.

Viewing the Dashboard
Once you’ve enabled the dashboard you want from the Tools menu, you will see it on the right-hand side of each Open Dental module.
