Accessing the Help Feature
The Open Dental Help feature is easily accessible right from the Open Dental program! Simply click the ? (question mark) icon in any Open Dental window to launch the applicable Help Page.
You can also use the Help dropdown in the Main Menu to access the Help feature. Love keyboard shortcuts? Use Shift+F1, then enter your search term!
Easy to Navigate
Help pages are organized into a Table of Contents that includes easy-to-navigate sections and you can quickly search for specific topics to find what you’re looking for.
Most pages are sorted in the same way you would navigate to a feature in Open Dental. For example, to find information on setting up insurance plans, you can navigate to Module, Family Module, Insurance Plan.
Once you’re on a page, it will also give instructions on how to navigate to a window, making it simple to find the feature you’re looking for in the program.

General Help Pages

Want to find a Workflow page, just search “How to” in the Help Feature or find pages in the Workflows section of the Table of Contents.
Overview Pages
Overview pages are just that, an overview of features available in Open Dental. These pages review all the different places are feature may be available in Open Dental or the different windows that encompass a feature.
Easily find Overview pages by searching “Overview” or going to the Overviews section in the Table of Contents.
