Do you think you’d survive a zombie apocalypse?
I doubt it. Cardio is not my thing, and I feel you need that to survive. But then again, the movie Zombieland has some good tips in it for survival, so maybe I just need to watch that again.

What do you wish you were an expert on?
Singing. I love music and musicals, but my voice needs work.
What is one of your secret talents?
I’m great at weaving quotes from movies into everyday conversation.
Life at Open Dental

What is your role at Open Dental and how long have you been with us?
My role at Open Dental is an Operations Analyst. I handle a lot of new employee training and employee education classes, help different departments with whatever they need, and I manage some fun employee engagement activities. I love to create and document processes for internal roles and create spreadsheets for various tracking needs. I have been with the company for nearly 5 years!

What has been your favorite part about working at Open Dental?
I think my favorite part has been being able to come to my manager with an idea of something new, or how something can be better; and they listen—even if the answer isn’t always a yes. There’s an environment of being able to pitch ideas when we see holes in processes, and having the freedom to help the company be more efficient and effective is a lot of fun for me. I like that I can leave my mark on something and feel like I’m helping Open Dental be great for customers and my co-workers.
What is one piece of advice you’d give to a new Open Dental customer?
Have fun with it! Our software is very intuitive and fun to work with. If you like discovering ways to personalize things or ways to make your office run more efficiently, then I think you’ll really like what our software can do.
What is your favorite Open Dental feature?
Feature Requests! It’s so easy to share your opinions, and some of our greatest features and functions come from the office’s suggestions.

Blake brings a calming energy and a warm smile to every interaction. He consistently goes above and beyond in his roles at Open Dental, and has made a huge impact on our new employee onboarding process, providing great insight and a focus on service as he empowers new employees to serve our customers. His positive attitude is infectious and he is simply a pleasure to work with.
