We’re committed to providing a variety of resources so you can equip yourself with the knowledge and support you need to become a successful Open Dental user. In our last two posts on resources, we introduced a wide variety of learning resources and online resources. In this post, you’ll learn more about the support resources that are available.
Before you tap into support resources, make sure you’ve checked the learning resources. If you’re not able to find what you’re looking for, or the issue is technical in nature (like an error message, or something not working as expected), feel free to reach out right away.
With Open Dental, you never pay for our software – you pay an affordable monthly fee for support, access to eServices, software updates, and affordable, customized training. When you find yourself in need of technical support, there are several options for contacting us.
Have a quick question? Get a quick answer with online chat! During regular business hours, you can click on chat on our website’s contact page to quickly connect with a support technician. We’ll be able to answer your question, and give you links to the learning resources you need for step-by-step instructions. If your question requires a call (or someone to remote-connect with your workstation or server), we’ll get you in the queue for a callback.
Give us a call at +1 503.363.5432 if you’re experiencing a technical issue with the software, or have additional questions after reviewing the learning resources for that topic. When you call, we can also remote connect with your workstation or server to troubleshoot any issues you may be experiencing. We want to be able to help all customers in a timely manner, so please limit your questions to two per call. You may call any number of times during the day.
PLEASE NOTE: If you (or an employee who just joined your practice) are new to Open Dental, or are taking on responsibilities and using features that are unfamiliar, make sure to take advantage of our many learning resources, and get adequate training from our trainers as well as people in your practice who are best-suited to answer process questions. We’re happy to answer questions, but we cannot provide training on a support call, for example, going through modules and explaining how to use various features, or teaching a process in the software step by step (check out our webinars for this!).
