The Chart Module is at the heart of patient care. You can customize the layout, see a graphical representation of the patient’s mouth in the tooth chart, chart treatment (past, present, and planned), store medical information, and more!

Chart Module Layout
By default, the Chart Module is laid out as seen above. Depending on the size of your screen, you may notice some extra space hanging out on the right side. Now, you can utilize the whole screen by creating a custom Chart Layout.
For example, maybe you want to the Tooth Chart to be bigger or more space to view progress notes. With Chart Layout, you can customize the look of the Chart Module to maximize space and work for you.
The Tooth Chart can be as detailed as you need it to be.
As treatment is entered, the tooth chart will update to reflect the work. A slider under the tool chart can be used to see treatment over time. You can make the tooth chart look just like the patient’s current mouth by marking teeth as missing, moving them, setting them primary, and drawing to add additional details.
- Use the Missing Teeth Tab to mark teeth as hidden or missing.
- Use the Movements Tab to display the patient’s current dentition.
- Use the Primary Tab to display primary or mixed dentition for your younger patients.
- Use the Draw Tab to make any additional graphics as needed.
TECH TIP: Charting supernumerary teeth?
For Permanent supernumerary tooth numbers, add 50 to the tooth number (tooth 1 = 51).
For Primary supernumerary tooth numbers, add an S (tooth A = AS).
Use the Enter Treatment tab to chart treatment for a patient. This can include work completed by other providers, work completed by you, treatment planned procedures, referred procedures, and more.

Planned Appointments make it quick and easy for your front desk to set up the patient’s next appointment so they get the care they need in the order needed.

The Show Tab is used to determine what information to display in the Progress Notes. Check or uncheck boxes to determine what to show.
Set up Chart Views to quickly change between views (similar to Appointment Views). For example, your billing staff may not care about procedure notes, and instead only want to see commlogs and appointments. Your clinical staff may not need to see emails or sheets but will want to see lab cases and procedures. Each appointment view can be assigned an F key to quickly switch between views.
Tech Tip: What displays in the progress notes is what will print. So, if you want to print your notes for a date range, use the All Dates button to narrow your dates as shown below, then right-click anywhere within the progress notes to print!
The Patient Information section is customizable as well. Fields that show are determined by the Display Fields.
Double-click into the pink area to show the Medical Area. This is where detailed notes can be entered about the patient’s medical history and information. Add problems, medications, allergies, and more.
